Main Street Family Shelter

Main Street Family Shelter operates year-round, providing emergency shelter for up to ten families at a time, housing support services, and specialized programming for children. Shared spaces include a kitchen, dining room, family room, laundry area, play room, and six bathrooms. The backyard has a play area and raised vegetable gardens.

What's New

We gave the kitchen and dining room a significant Trauma-Informed Design makeover in 2019. These renovations were made possible by the gift of a donor in memory of his wife, Wally Perkins, a retired educator and longtime volunteer in our family shelter. A beautiful quote from Wally -- “The world is mine and yours to share. How can we make it better?” -- is on a plaque in the dining room, capturing our sentiments and hopes for the work we do. See before and after photos and read more.
