Answer the Call; 2024 COTS Phonathon

The COTS Phonathon is our oldest and one of our most important fundraisers. Each year, the week after Thanksgiving, staff and volunteers call past COTS supporters and ask them to consider a gift to COTS again this year. Your volunteer work, donations, and support for the Phonathon are vital to the services COTS provides.

The 2023 Phonathon will take place Monday, December 1 – Thursday, December 5.

How it Works

Donating to the Phonathon can help maximize your gift to COTS. We have a generous Challenge Grant from New England Federal Credit Union (NEFCU) that will match 100% of new donations to this year’s Phonathon. It will also match gifts of past Phonathon donors who increase their gift from last year. So if you gave $50 last year and give $100 this year, $50 (the increase) will be matched.

You do not have to donate during the week of the Phonathon for the challenge grant to apply. You can donate now and your donation will still be matched if it is a new or increased gift!

We are searching for Volunteers to make phone calls Monday, December 1 – Thursday, December 5. You can volunteer for one, two, three, or four evenings from 5:30PM – 8PM. 

You can help by either calling our donors or Phone-A-Friending- no voice to voice contact necessary.

All aspects of the Phonathon can be done virtually, but Monday, you will have the option of joining us in person to kick it off. There will be food, drinks, and likeminded community members.

Hosting an offsite calling party is a great option for many professionals who would like to give back to the community while gathering together during the holiday season. We can come speak to your group!

Phone-A-Friend is for those of you who don't love talking on the phone (totally reasonable.) We ask that you text, email, DM, Facebook message, or contact someone in your network any other way and ask them to make a gift to COTS.
