COTS kicked off its 3rd Annual #172vt Back-to-School Drive at the Lake Monsters game last night. Thanks to help from KeyBank, Staples, Rhino Foods and, of course, Champ, the benefit got off to a great start with donated supplies! With the help of the community, we hope to fill 172-plus backpacks for local kids who might otherwise not have the supplies they need to be successful in the coming school year….

With more than 1,500 Vermonters without housing on any given night and families with children now making up half of all people in emergency shelters, Gov. Peter Shumlin and Human Services Secretary Hal Cohen made an announcement at COTS regarding a statewide strategy for ending child and family homelessness in Vermont by 2020.
