Thank you to all our COTS friends (old and new) who helped make our 30th Anniversary Gala so much fun! It was clear from the start that attendees enjoyed seeing familiar faces during the cocktail hour hosted by Presenting Sponsor REMN.  Many were flowing from cluster to cluster sharing memories and their personal connections with COTS. After cocktails, it was the dinner hour.  And similar to special occasions at home, co-hosts Chris Bohjalian and Stephen…

This year’s Coolest Lunch was a blast! We had 130 online reservations plus walk-ins and raised over $3,000!  Groups of students, coworkers, and friends ventured into the nippy outdoors and did their part to raise awareness for those who face exposure to the elements all day long. Cheer and good spirits were high among participants.  The food was donated by the restaurants allowing 100% of proceeds to go straight towards helping fund homeless services and programs during…

2012 Phonathon Coincides with #GivingTuesday This is a fun and engaging annual event in which volunteers call COTS supporters to thank them for their past donations and ask them to consider a gift again this holiday season.  And it also happens to coincide perfectly with #GivingTuesday. Everyone loves a great deal, which is why shopping extravaganzas like Black Friday and  Cyber Monday generate so much revenue, so why not help…

Last Friday, Sept. 28th, the Homeschoolers held their 13th Annual Bake Sale Benefit for COTS outside the Fletcher Free Library! Organized by Jessica Wagner for the 13th year running, the event was a great success! The Homeschoolers raised over $360 for COTS in just a few hours! And of course, seeing as we were at a Homeschooler fundraiser, we took the opportunity to teach the kids about Family Shelter and…

On Sept. 22-23, 2012, Marty Martinez, a members of the COTS Veterans Advisory Council, launched their first Stand Down event for homeless veterans in Vermont at the Winooski High School. Martinez said he was motivated by the need he saw, given the latest census data; every night there are 60 homeless vets in the state of Vermont.  He wanted to use Stand Down to help find those 60 individuals and connect…
