SHELTER STAFF

Full or Part-time

COTS often has openings for full or part-time Shelter Staff in our Family and Single Adult Shelters. Shelter Staff responsibilities include maintaining a safe and supportive environment while building trusting relationships with individuals transitioning from homelessness to housing.  The ability to work independently and as well as part of a committed team is necessary. The ability and flexibility to work evening hours and overnight shifts is a big plus. Strong communication and crisis management skills are coupled with experience working in homeless direct service is helpful.

SHELTER STAFF SUBS

On Call Per Diem

In order to provide staffing for our shelters "24/7" COTS relies on a pool of on-call per diem Shelter Staff. These "Subs" ideally have the flexibility and availability to fill in as needed in our emergency shelters. Assignments may include evening, weekend and overnight assignments, and responsibilities include maintaining a safe and supportive shelter environment for individuals and families experiencing homelessness.
