Development Director
Full Time The Development Director has the responsibility to create an annual development plan which ensures strategic revenue growth across all funding streams; to oversee and manage major fundraising events and grant writing; to design and implement a public education and media plan; and to lead and manage a creative development team.
The successful candidate will bring commitment to our mission along with five years of successful development experience; outstanding writing and presentation skills; proven ability to plan campaigns; and a track record of successful management. Experience with social media tools and knowledge of our community will be helpful.
Family Shelter Staff
Full Time
Staff position in our Family Shelter. Responsibilities include working with families in shelter to maintain a safe and supportive living environment. The abilities to multitask, to work independently, and as a part of a team are necessary. Strong communication skills and crisis management skills are a must. Experience providing direct human services is preferred.
Case Manager
Part Time
COTS is seeking an organized, creative and self-directed individual with excellent communication and advocacy skills to work in COTS Daystation. Focus on building trusting relationships to empower homeless individuals transitioning from homelessness to housing. Engage homeless adults through one-on-one and group interactions to increase self esteem, coordinate educational and social events and provide for basic needs. An ability to work with a diverse client base, basic word processing and internet skills are also necessary.
This 37.5 hour/week position is a commitment from March through August. Benefits include a living allowance of $7,254 (pre-tax), $2,362 education award (pre-tax) upon successful completion of their commitment, health insurance and possible school loan forbearance during the commitment. AmeriCorps also sponsors training and events for it’s members.
Shelter Staff “Subs”
On Call Per Diem
COTS is currently recruiting for dynamic, organized individuals who care deeply about our mission and are available to work on an on-call, per diem basis as substitute staff in our emergency shelters. Assignments may include evening, weekend and overnight assignments, and responsibilities include maintaining a safe and supportive shelter environment for individuals and families experiencing homelessness.

Participate in providing a full range of direct services to clients while working as a team within COTS’ programs and with community partners. Willingness to learn and work with individuals with mental health, medical, substance abuse and employment issues required. Good written and verbal communication also required.
