Information received from donors

The Committee on Temporary Shelter retains names, addresses, phone numbers, and email information from donations made online, via mobile or through mail. We use this information to send gift acknowledgements and receipts, as well as to maintain relationships with supporters.

We collect and use personal information only to the extent necessary to process the donation or respond to the request.

COTS does not sell, rent or exchange our supporters personal information.

Opting Out and Corrections

When donors share their contact information with us, they may receive periodic contacts from us with program updates or news about upcoming events. If supporters wish to receive only certain mailings (like our newsletter, for example), or wish to receive no correspondence at all, or if any personal information needs to be corrected, please let us know by contacting us via any method described below. We will try to ensure that all requests are honored.


COTS operates secure data networks protected by industry standard firewall and password protection systems. Our security and privacy policies are periodically reviewed and enhanced as necessary and only authorized individuals have access to the information provided by our customers.

We encourage our users to be aware when they leave our site and to read the privacy statements of each and every Web site that collects personally identifiable information.
