We salute our veterans
A special thank you to Wally Caswell and our good friends at Great Eastern Radio for helping us craft the attached PSA that highlights our work with homeless veterans through our Canal Street Veterans Housing program.
Located in Winooski, Canal Street is an innovative approach to veterans’ assistance that creates housing, not shelter, for formerly homeless veterans and their families. The program provides veterans with time to transition back into the community, allowing participants to stay up to 24 months. Canal Street residents are furthering their education, upgrading their job skills and connecting with other local resources, including services for mental and physical health. Residents come from all branches of service. Canal Street can host 16‐18 veterans at a time.
The PSA began airing last week on 104.3 Kiss FM, a classic hip-hop station serving the Burlington, Vermont, and Plattsburgh, New York,
communities. Stay tuned throughout the year as we develop more PSA’s to help bring attention to the challenges faced by people experiencing homelessness and those at risk of homelessness.
Wishing everyone a happy and safe Fourth of July and a heartfelt thank you to all of our veterans who have served our country over the years to ensure our freedoms – thank you!!!
