Please join us!

WHAT: The Coolest Lunch, a benefit for the Committee on Temporary Shelter (COTS)

WHEN: Noon-2 p.m. WEDNESDAY (Dec. 16)

WEATHER FORECAST: 40 degrees, with partly sunny skies

WHY: You can’t beat outdoor dining at the “coolest lunch in town.” COTS supporters, in an effort to raise awareness about being homeless in the cold winter months, will eat lunch outdoors in downtown Burlington and new this year: Winooski, too!

Reservations encouraged, but walk-ins welcome, as seating allows. To reserve your seat, click here or call Lori at (802) 864-7402, Ext. 207.

The event is in its eighth year and includes several Burlington restaurants:

  • Farmhouse Tap & Grill (SOLD OUT)
  • Leunig’s Bistro (SOLD OUT)
  • The Scuffer
  • New Moon Café *

And, this year, Winooski restaurants include:

  • Our House
  • Sneaker’s Bistro
  • Misery Loves Company

For a suggested donation of $25, diners receive entrée and non-alcoholic beverage. The restaurants donate the food, and the waitstaff volunteer for the event (but are most grateful for your tips).

Ben and Jerry’s Scoop Shop in Burlington will offer free hot chocolate to diners.

Also new this year:

  • Diners and supporters are welcome to stop by Canal Street Veterans Housing in Winooski for coffee. This COTS program provides transitional housing for formerly homeless veterans and their families. COTS will mark the 5th anniversary of this successful program in January.
  • The “Bronze Ambassadors” hand bell choir from the United Christian Academy in Newport will perform in Burlington.

*New Moon Café will offer regular prices with indoor dining and a portion of proceeds will go to COTS.

We would like to thank the our participating host restaurants, sponsor Members Advantage Community Credit Union, VSAC, Vermont Moving & Storage, Ben & Jerry’s, Flat Fee Real Estate, Localvore Today and WCAX-TV.
