Bubble Gum Day for COTS

We would love to give an extra special thank you to Scarlet Stimson, who asked her teacher to have a Bubble Gum Day in her class.  Her efforts raised $77.  Next year, she hopes to involve the whole school and raise more than $200!  Want to have your own Bubble Gum Day?  You should!

The idea for a Bubble Gum day was started by Ruth Spiro, author of the children’s book, Lester Fizz Bubble Gum Artist.

Here’s how it works:

On Bubble Gum Day, everyone who donates 50 cents or more gets to chew gum in school, with proceeds going to  COTS or another favorite nonprofit organization. Kids have fun, while raising money for a good cause. Some creative teachers even incorporate bubble gum into their lessons for the day!

The celebration isn’t limited to schools. Many libraries, community centers, and even businesses hold bubble gum day events. After all, why should kids have all the fun?

Thank you again, Scarlet, and all of the participants at Founders Memorial School!  We love seeing kids getting involved in bringing good to their communities.  How inspiring!
