30th Anniversary Gala Co-Hosts Chris Bohjalian and Stephen Kiernan

The talented — and entertaining — duo of Vermont authors, Chris Bohjalian and Stephen Kiernan, co-host the evening.  Chris assures us he has been studying such prestigious shows as the Academy Awards and conferring with Stephen on winning strategies to keep all who attending plied with fun for the night.  Read more about their excitement for the evening in Chris’ Idyll Banter: Co-hosts for COTS: Seth and Billy and Whoopi watch out.

And the live auction offerings are sure to provide truly memorable experiences to share with your friends and family.  You could get a taste and peek behind-the-scenes of the restaurant business with an invitation for four to attend a soft opening preview night at chef-owner Eric Warnsted’s Hen of the Wood, coming to Burlington.  Or you could bid on a four-course dinner for six with wine pairings in the private dining room at E.B. Strong’s Prime Steakhouse.

If you’re a golf enthusiast, how about nine holes and a lesson with LPGA golfer Libby Smith? There’s also the exciting chance to have lunch with Mark Bonfigli, founder of Dealer.com, to discuss initiating and maintaining culture in the workplace.

Or you could seize the opportunity to be a character in a novel — best-selling author Chis Bohjalian will use your name, and perhaps likeness for a character, in his 2014 novel, Close Your Eyes, Hold Hands, set in Burlington and the Northeast Kingdom.  Who knows? You might wind up as a state’s attorney, a social worker, or — yes — a homeless teenager on Church Street…the possibilities are endless.

We’ll just leave you with Chris’ words in his recent Free Press column:  “As the old New York State lottery ads reminded us, you have to be in it to win it, and to be in it you have to be at the COTS gala.  So, please join Kiernan and me.  It’s a great cause, and I promise I won’t say anything that Seth MacFarlane did on Oscar night.  I will say things that are much, much worse.”
