Rock Point School Staffer, Joe Ainsworth, explains the different routes for the 5K and 3K races.

Wow! Way to put the fun in fundraiser! Our AmeriCorps VISTA, Gillian Taylor, had a blast talking to the Rock Point School students, family, friends, and staff who gathered Saturday, October 20th to raise awareness and funds for homeless services in our community.

Gillian was especially impressed with the costumes: “There were a lot of people there for so early on a Saturday morning.  And the costumes were crazy!  My favorite was probably the family of superheroes who were really rocking the cape and tighty whitey combo.”

The Oooky Spooky is a 5K/3K race designed with all ages and athletic levels in mind. Whether you were running for a competitive time or there to enjoy the event with your family, there was something for everyone.

All in all, they raised $877 for COTS! We are so thankful to Rock Point School for this wonderful Halloween tradition and can’t wait for next year.  Make sure to check out the pictures from this great event here.

And watch this fun movie trailer style video for a taste of this unique event!
